Applications due by Jan. 19

– The Templeton Area Advisory Group (TAAG) is now accepting nominations for delegates on this community advisory council that provides the County Board of Supervisors feedback on land use and planning decisions in Templeton. Delegates serve a two year term and alternates serve a one year term.

TAAG is seeking nominations from the public to fill three delegate positions and two alternate delegate positions at the election on Thursday March 2, 2017. Two current members’ terms are expiring, Frank Scotti and Bob Bejerano, and both gentlemen have until the December 15 meeting to declare their intention to run for a new term.

A candidate must be a registered voter in SLO County and reside within the boundaries of TAAG, which are the same as the Templeton Unified School District boundaries. To learn more about being a delegate on TAAG or to nominate yourself, email [email protected] or mail to PO Box 1135 Templeton CA 93465, with a letter of interest and your contact information, including your home address, arriving no later than Jan. 19, 2017.

Interested parties may also declare their intention to run in person at the TAAG meeting on Dec. 15, 2016 or Jan. 19, 2017. Meetings are held at the Templeton Community Services District Board room and start at 7 p.m.

The purpose of TAAG is to solicit community input and review proposed development in the Templeton area, as well as provide input on county land use plans and ordinances. When reviewing proposed development, TAAG uses established county standards, area plans and the Templeton Community Design Plan as guidelines for its recommendations. After public review, TAAG reports its recommendations to county officials. TAAG meets monthly on the 3rd Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Templeton Community Services District Board Room.
