Car ransacked in garage, victim says

–On Sunday, deputies from the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a burglary which had just occurred in the 300 block of Creekside Ranch Road in Templeton. The victim says he was alerted to his garage door being opened. When the victim checked his garage, he discovered that his car had been ransacked and several items had been stolen from the trunk of his car. Since the incident had just occurred, deputies began a patrol of the area and discovered two other theft incidents.

Additional patrol units arrived on scene and located a vehicle driving in the area. Deputies initiated a traffic stop and made contact with one adult male and one juvenile male in the vehicle. At that point, deputies discovered stolen property in the vehicle from the Templeton burglary and thefts. Items recovered included electronics, power tools, cash and garage door openers.

Deputies arrested 18-year old Alejandro Villalovos of San Miguel and a 17-year-old juvenile, also from San Miguel, whose identity will not be released due to his age. Villalovos was booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail for burglary and possession of stolen property. The 17-year-old was taken to Juvenile Hall.

A search warrant was served at the residence of Villalovos in the 800 block of 15th street in San Miguel. During the search, detectives recovered a handgun which had been reported stolen in January. Most of the stolen items that were recovered have been returned to their rightful owners. The investigation is continuing.
