Vineyard Dog Park unveils winning student art mural
Reception will be held Sept. 3
–Vineyard Dog Park organizers will host a coffee social and artist reception on Saturday, Sept. 3 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the dog park. The new park mural painted by 14 year old, Ashley Rosilez who attends Templeton High School, will be officially unveiled at this event.
The mural is 4’ x 7’ and is displayed at the entrance to the dog park. Rosilez submitted the winning design as part of the annual student art content sponsored by the dog park organizers. The judges were impressed with her whimsical design of dogs enjoying a countryside picnic next to a vintage VW bus with a surfboard on top.
The mural project is supervised by local professional artist Brenda Thomasen in her art studio in Templeton. Rosilez wins a $300 cash prize, all expenses paid for the project, and community service hours for her contribution. Her mural replaces the mural painted by last year’s winner, Santana Sanchez of Templeton.
Coffee, pastries and conversation will be served at this event. Vineyard Dog Park is located at 1010 Semillon Lane in Templeton. For more information regarding dog park events, please visit www.parks4pups.org.
This event is sponsored by A.M. Sun Solar company. Company representatives will have a booth at the event with information about their solar projects and services.
