Video: Injured football player Isaac Lindsey returns home
–Local football player Isaac Lindsey, who was injured playing for the Templeton Eagles, arrived back in town this afternoon at about 2:45 p.m. with a police escort down Main Street. He was driven home today from an acute rehab center in San Jose.
Community members lined Main Street with signs and cheers to welcome him home. Lindsey waved from the family mini-van. His mother was driving.
After suffering a traumatic head injury during a football game on Oct. 2, Lindsey was treated at French Hospital in San Luis Obispo before being transferred to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center.
The Lindsey family has witnessed a tremendous outpouring of support from the community. More than $100,000 was raised on GoFundMe and other fundraisers that have been held since that night. Residents have displayed signs and bumper stickers showing support for Lindsey with his name and jersey No. 32 displayed all over town.
