Trick or Treat on Main Street returns

Halloween Pumpkins

Popular, family-friendly event is bigger and better in 2016

In 2015, the Templeton Chamber of Commerce introduced a new event that took everyone by surprise in its popularity: “Trick or Treat on Main Street.” It debuted to crowds of kids in diverse costumes – scary, sweet and downright confusing – walking up and down Main Street visiting local merchants with a piercing cry of, “Trick or Treat!”

This year the popular event is back, providing local parents and children a safe and friendly environment, during daylight hours, for this annual tradition. Select businesses, from First to Seventh streets along both sides of Main Street, will be participating – look for the orange pumpkin sign in the window – with candy for the kids and a generous smile for parents and guardians in tow.

Be sure to check out all of the wonderful shops located along Main Street while trick or treating this Halloween. Last year some parents even squeezed in some shopping at Adelaide Kids Corner and a quick wine tasting at Clavo Cellars while children picked a special treat from the basket of candy.

The Trick or Treat On Main Street event will run from 3:30 to 6 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31. Stop by the Chamber office at 321 S. Main to pick up a list of participating businesses along with a map and a bag for candy. Some businesses close at 5 p.m. so be sure to visit them first.
