Templeton Founder’s Day moved to Saturday

Templeton Founder's Day
FOUNDER’S DAY 2014 • MAIN ST. TEMPLETON • SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 1 • 1PM TO 4PM

It’s an old-fashioned street faire

Templeton Founder’s Day is when our community and guests gather to celebrate all that is Templeton, as well as the area’s rich agricultural heritage. This year the event has been moved to Saturday.

In earlier days, this event was a “homecoming” celebration wherein members of the community, past and present, would gather to reminisce and visit with family and friends. Recently, this event was revived by the Templeton Historical Museum Society as an Old- Fashioned Pie Social. With the participation of the Templeton Chamber, it has grown into a grand street faire.

This year’s Founder’s Day will feature children’s activities, a wine and beer garden and live music in front of the Templeton Historical Museum. As in previous years, the event will center around the Templeton Historical Museum at 309 S Main Street in the heart of downtown Templeton and we will keep the tradition of providing a free slice of pie for all who attend. Our street-faire will feature local artists, crafters, collectors and food vendors.

There will be lots of activities for the entire family, and lots of great food, live entertainment and a dance performance by local youngsters. Templeton Feed & Grain and Hewitt’s Hardware will provide a back-drop for a display of vintage tractors, hit-n-miss engines and antique automobiles.

We feel this is a great time for our artists, crafter and collectors to sell and trade their wares because it is just before Thanksgiving and the holiday season. It is also a great time to recognize our roots in agriculture as the fall harvest season comes to an end and cooler weather sets in.

Bring the whole family down to Main Street for a slice of classic Americana on this sunny Saturday afternoon for the Templeton Founder’s Day.
