North County mobile home destroyed in fire
Sole occupant was assisted out of the home by neighbors
– At approximately 11:43 pm, Paso Robles Department of Emergency Services was dispatched to a single-family residential structure fire at 3341 Spring St. This was reported to be a single-wide trailer located in the center of the Paso Robles Mobile Home park, with flames coming out the front door.
The first fire engine reached the scene within approximately five minutes. This initial fire crew reported a mobile home unit fully involved with fire. The fire was also threatening adjacent units.
According to witnesses, the sole occupant at the time of the fire was assisted out of the home by neighbors. He was a male appearing to be in his mid-20s. Also according to witnesses, the occupant’s parents also resided in the mobile home, but were out of town on vacation at the time of the fire.
Firefighters from Paso Robles, Atascadero, and SLO County worked diligently to keep fire from spreading to adjacent property. In total, 16 firefighters operating from 5 engines and 1 chief officer worked to contain the fire. Additional assistance was provided by Paso Robles Police Department and San Luis Ambulance Service.
The fire’s cause was not readily apparent and is under investigation. The 14 x 60 foot mobile home and its contents were a complete loss. No damage estimate was available.
