Templeton Drama to present Macbeth

templeton-macbeth

–Templeton High School Drama will present William Shakespeare’s Macbeth at the Templeton Performing Arts Center. The classic tragedy is directed by 3-time American High School Theater Festival Director’s Award recipient, Catherine Kingsbury.

Just in time for the national election, THS Drama presents a play about ambition gone awry. Scottish general Macbeth receives a prophecy that one day he will become King of Scotland. Consumed by ambition and spurred to action by his wife, Macbeth takes the Scottish throne for himself amid murder & turmoil, followed by guilt and paranoia. Enter Malcolm, the rightful heir to the throne, and an English army to set things right again. It is Shakespeare’s shortest and most direct play.

Performances are Nov. 3, 4, 5, 10, 11 and 12 at 7 p.m., with matinees Nov. 5 and 12 at 2 p.m. The Nov. 11 show also features a special Veteran’s tribute. Tickets are $12 for adults, and $10 for students and seniors, and are available at templetondrama.org.
