Local dance studio wins highest score overall at national competition

Templeton’s Main Street Dance Company

–Templeton’s Main Street Dance Company today announced it was awarded first place overall – the highest scoring award – at the Bella Moxi dance competition held last week in Burbank, CA.

Main Street Dance Company’s production number “Downtown” was selected from over 390 other dance routines performed by companies from across the nation. The “Bella Moxi Best” award is given to a single dance that receives the highest score and embodies technique, versatility, diversity and entertainment. Main Street Dance Company’s production company is comprised of 33 youths ranging in age from seven to 17.

“I couldn’t be more proud of our students, teachers and parents,” said Jocelyn Willis, owner of and lead choreographer at Main Street Dance Company. “Our dancers have been working on and fine-tuning this production for nearly a year. Choreographing and executing a dance of this proportion calls for a tremendous amount of dedication and passion. Earning the highest award is a testament to our dancer’s commitment to teamwork, support and love for each other.”

In addition to winning the highest award, Main Street Dance Company was presented with a cash prize of $500 along with an unlimited number of paid entries to Bella Moxi’s 2020 National Competition held in New York City.
