Highway 1 paving between Cayucos and Cambria planned

ā€“A project to resurface the pavement and reconstruct the ramps and shoulders of Highway 1 from south of 13th Street in Cayucos to Harmony Valley Road will continue next week with the following ramp/lane closures:

Motorists will encounter a closure of the northbound Highway 1 on/off ramps at 13th Street and ā€œCā€ Street Monday, Aug. 5 through Thursday, Aug. 8 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. These ramps will be closed Friday, Aug. 9 from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. (13th Street) and from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. (C Street). Construction in the Cayucos area will include grinding and guardrail work.

In addition, there will be lane closures in both directions of Hwy. 1 from 24th Street to Harmony Valley Road, Monday, Aug. 5 through Thursday, Aug. 8 from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. and on Friday, Aug. 9 from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. Motorists can expect delays of 15 minutes.

The contractor for this $9.8 million project is CalPortland Construction of Santa Maria, CA. This project is expected to be complete this November.

Electronic message boards will inform the public about this roadwork. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) will ensure a safe environment for everyone.

The Highway 1 resurfacing from north of Harmony Valley Road to Cambria Pines Road will continue Monday, Aug. 5. Motorists will encounter alternating lane closures with flaggers Monday, Aug. 5 through Thursday, Aug. 8 from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. and on Friday, Aug. 9 from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. Electronic message boards will inform the public about this roadwork. There is no overnight roadwork scheduled this week. Work in the Cambria area will include striping.

The contractor for this $3.2 million project is Granite Construction of Santa Maria, CA. This project is expected to be complete this September.
