–Empty Bowls in Atascadero attracted hundreds of people to Atascadero Bible Church Thursday to raise money for the ECHO Homeless Shelter. Those who bought a bowl of soup also received an empty bowl thrown by a local potter or ceramic artist.

Wedny Lewis of ECHO estimated more than 500 people attended the event. She said it was one of their greatest attendance ever. She says the fundraiser may generate as much as $20,000 for the ECHO Homeless Shelter in Atascadero.
