Templeton Fire and Emergency Services Stairclimb Team gears-up
–On March 11, 2018 members of the Templeton Fire and Emergency Services will participate for the 5th year in a row in the Scott Firefighter Stairclimb. The Templeton Team has participated in the event for the last three years. This event has evolved into one of the world’s most physically challenging competitions, attracting 2,000 firefighters from all 50 states, Canada, Europe and the Pacific. Dressed in 50 pounds of “bunker gear” including helmet, fireproof coat and pants, breathing apparatus and air tanks used in fighting fires, these firefighters will climb the Columbia Center Tower’s 69 floors of stairs – that’s 788 feet of vertical elevation and 1,356 steps.
The Scott Firefighter Stairclimb is a fundraising event to help raise funds and find a cure for cancer through the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
