Rumble strip project begins on Highway 46 West

Motorists can expect delays

–A project to install rumble strips on Highway 46 West from east of State Route 1 to Theater Drive is now underway.

Motorists will encounter one-way reversing traffic control with a flagger and pilot car Monday through Thursday from 8:30 am until 4 pm. There is no roadwork scheduled on Fridays. Electronic message boards will inform the public about this roadwork. Motorists can expect delays not to exceed 15 minutes.

The installation of rumble strips, which create a vibration when driving over them, will enhance safety for travelers along this highway. The strips will be installed on the shoulder and along the yellow line.

The contractor for this $180,000 project is American Pacific Construction of Eastvale, CA. This project is expected to be complete by the end of this month.

Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway construction zones.
