‘Tip a Cop’ dinner raises money for Special Olympics

Tip a cop dinner north county

Local law enforcement officers will be servers for the evening

–Law enforcement officers from various agencies in the county will come together for a fun evening of fundraising on Tuesday, May 23, at the Paso Robles Event Center. The annual, “Tip a Cop,” dinner is a unique experience where law enforcement officers are the servers for the evening. All of the tips that they receive are given as a donation to benefit the Special Olympics of San Luis Obispo County.

At the Tip-A-Cop fundraisers, officers, deputies, dispatchers, police chiefs, and the Sheriff will happily wait on customers. 100-percent of the proceeds raised at the dinners will benefit Special Olympics athletes. At these dinners expect a good time, great food, lots of laughs and only mediocre service.

“They are very nice and kind,” said Dylan Mercado, Special Olympics athlete about the officers that take part in the event. Mercado says he loves the dinners because he enjoys, “Giving greetings to people and getting to know new people.”

Dinner includes a choice of tri-tip, chicken, ribs or vegetarian entrée, beans, bread, salad, dessert & soft drink, wine or beer. Two sittings are available: 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Officer table of eight is $200. For more information or to purchase tickets, contact Mary Sponhaltz at (805) 227-7520 or [email protected].
