Grants awarded in the North County, the South County, and San Luis Obispo

―The Community Foundation San Luis Obispo County (CFSLOCO) awarded grants to all three local agencies that operate overnight warming centers in San Luis Obispo County.  The agencies are St. William’s Parish in Atascadero under the fiscal sponsorship of El Camino Homeless Organization (ECHO) serving homeless clients in north county, Community Action Partnership (CAPSLO), serving homeless clients in San Luis Obispo, and the Five Cities Homeless Coalition serving homeless clients in south San Luis Obispo county. Each grant will cover the cost of providing clothing, warm meals, and other supplies as needed by the warming centers to provide shelter to people from wet and cold weather.

“We are pleased to join with so many others throughout the county who are supporting programs that are taking care of the most vulnerable people during these times of cold and rainy weather,” said Heidi McPherson, CEO of The Community Foundation San Luis Obispo County.

The foundation has supported the county with grants and scholarships totaling more than $30 million since 1988. The foundation’s assets have grown to more than $55 million and provide support to all aspects of the community. For more information on The Community Foundation’s programs, visit the Community Foundation of San Luis Obispo County, or contact Len Smolburd at (805) 543-2323.
