Car overturned after collision in Templeton
Driver failed to yield to car with right of way, says CHP
–On May 27, two cars were involved in a collision on Crocker and 5th Street in Templeton, according to California Highway Patrol. Dakota Elizabeth Mackle, 19 years old, was driving a 2008 BMW 528i eastbound on 5th Street. Matthew Hulfachor, 17 years old, was driving a 1965 Willies Jeep northbound on Crocker Street.
Mackle was driving East on 5th Street approaching the stop sign at the intersection with Crocker Street. Hulfachor was driving North on Crocker Street approaching the same intersection and did not have a stop sign on Crocker Street. Mackle slowed her vehicle but failed to stop for the stop sign or notice V-2 approaching with the right of way. Mackle hit Hulfachor’s driver’s side in the intersection.
After the collision, Mackle’s vehicle continued East where it came to rest facing east on 5th Street just east of Crocker Street. Hulfachor’s vehicle swerved out of control and overturned onto its roof facing east and blocking the North lane of Crocker Street North of the intersection.
Drugs and or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in this collision. This collision is still under investigation.
