Chamber of commerce to host district one supervisor candidate forum

Forum designed to introduce candidates, allow the public to hear how they stand on issues Templeton chamber mixer

–The Templeton Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a forum for candidates running for District One of the San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors, at the Vineyard Elementary School multipurpose room on Wednesday April 13 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Vineyard Elementary School is located at 2121 Vineyard Drive in Templeton.

The purpose of this event is to introduce the public to the candidates running for the seat, and to inform the public about the positions of each candidate.

District one encompasses all of Paso Robles, all of San Miguel and most of Templeton. Frank Mecham is the current supervisor and is not seeking re-election.

On the ballot in June are Paso Robles Mayor Steve Martin, Paso Robles City Councilman John Hamon, Paso Robles retired attorney Dale Gustin, and political strategist John Peschong of Templeton, a small business owner.

The audience will have an opportunity to submit questions in writing before the forum, between 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Following introductions, there will be a question and answer session moderated by the League of Women Voters.

This event is free and open to the public. The chamber encourages attendees to arrive a few minutes early so they can meet the candidates informally and submit their questions in writing, as no questions will be taken from the audience after the forum begins.
