Family of injured football player releases statement
– Michael and Jenny Lindsey, the father and mother of Isaac Lindsey, the 17-year-old who was injured during the fourth quarter of the Templeton and San Luis Obispo high school varsity football game on Friday night, have released the following statement to the community:
Our family is in awe of the incredible love and support that our wonderful community has provided. So many have reached out in ways that we never expected nor could ever repay.
At this time Isaac is in a medically induced coma in the Intensive Care Unit at Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center so that that he can rest comfortably with no distractions or disruptions. This initial period is the most crucial in his recovery.
The most important thing we ask is that you continue to have good thoughts and send your prayers for Isaac’s full and speedy recovery. The doctors and nurses at Sierra Vista have given us cause for optimism.
Isaac is not able to have visitors at this time. However, he will need your full support once he is released from the hospital. Thank you again to the hundreds of people who have started fundraisers and participated in bringing the community together and for the outpouring of love. We do appreciate everyone’s understanding in respecting our family’s privacy at this critical time in Isaac’s journey.
