Templeton CSD receives a transparency certificate of excellence
–Templeton Community Services District (TCSD) received the District Transparency Certificate of Excellence by the Special District Leadership Foundation (SDLF) in recognition of its outstanding efforts to promote transparency and good governance on July 27, 2017 at a special ceremony. This is the first time the district has been recognized. The current distinction is for a two year period covering 2017 and 2018.
In order to receive the award, the district had to demonstrate the completion of essential governance transparency requirements, including conducting ethics training for all board members, properly conducting open and public meetings and filing financial transactions and compensation reports to the State Controller in a timely manner.
TCSD also fulfilled twenty website requirements, including providing readily available information to the public, such as board agendas, past minutes, current district budget, and the most recent financial audit.
Finally, the district demonstrated its outreach to constituents that engages the public in its governance, through newsletters, an annual informational public budget hearing, and a community engagement project.
