TCSD Manager’s Message – Fall 2014

Jeff Briltz

Jeff Briltz

First, I want to thank all of you who have done such a great job in reducing your water use this summer. From April through July, Templeton residents and business have saved 25 percent as compared to the same months in 2013. Keep up the good work! And while we hope that the upcoming winter will bring much-needed rain, we really don’t know what Mother Nature has in store. If this drought continues into a fourth year, you will very likely be asked to do even more. Check www.templetoncsd.org or your Templeton CSD utility bill each month for news or announcements about water conservation requirements as they change. For many useful water savings tips, visit www.saveourh2o.org.

The Fall and Winter months bring many great activities for Templeton families – I hope all of you are able to participate in at least a few of them. Please bring the kids to one of Templeton CSD’s Movies in the Park on Saturday evenings in September,, or show your commitment to fitness and sign up for the Turkey Trot on November 22. There are many other activities available here for you and your family – please take the time to review the information contained in this edition of Templeton Matters, and get involved in your community.

Another way to demonstrate your commitment to your community is by voting. This November 4th, voters will cast their vote for a U.S. Representative, California Governor, and two new Templeton CSD Board Members, amongst many other offices and issues. If you do not vote, others will make those decisions for you. If you are not registered, or have moved since you last registered, it is not too late – you have until October 20th to register to vote and be eligible to vote in this November’s election. For more information about the election, including how to register to vote, visit www.slocounty.ca.gov/clerk/Elections.htm. Get informed and exercise your rights – Vote!

We have also put together some great resources and information in this edition of Templeton Matters, from articles on what not to flush down the toilet to how to prevent your pipes from freezing on those cold winter nights. Keep Templeton Matters handy and read through the material – we think you will find it useful. Also, let us know if there is something you want to learn more about – maybe you can read about it in an upcoming edition.

On behalf of the District Staff and Board of Directors, thank you for reading the information contained in this edition of Templeton Matters. Informed and involved citizens are what make Templeton such a great place to call home!
