Local crafters at annual Central Coast Handmade Market

Central-Coast-Handmade-MarketThe Central Coast Handmade Market will be held on Friday, Oct. 17 and Saturday, Oct. 18 at the Templeton Legion Hall. Karin Smith and Jamie Cheney are the creators of this unique show with a “handmade” theme featuring local crafters. The focus is to offer newly created, re-usable and re-purposed products along with some imaginative, decorative items for gift giving and home décor. Categories include leather, fabric, yarn, paper, metal, edibles, jewelry, garden art, holiday decorations and more.

As well as giving shoppers a personal connection and a great assortment of handmade items, the Central Coast Handmade Market supports stay-at-home moms, retirees and people that craft full time for a living. With the traditional craft categories remaining, the current trend is “up-cycle” re-fashion, re-use, and re-purpose with an emerging feeling of urban style, eco-chic based on pop culture, media trends fashion and generational shifts.”

Central Coast Handmade Market is located at the Templeton Legion Hall at 805 So. Main Street in Templeton on Oct. 17 and 18. Friday hours: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free.
